It's awesome to feel strong.

01/24/2016 - 09:37

I've been thinking a lot lately about what it means to me and my clients and friends to feel strong. It's a very personal feeling. But such a powerful one. For me physical strength is of upmost importantance and it's what motivates me to train hard at a high intensity and lift heavy weights and try and get back what I lost being pregnant and having a baby.

Some days when I'm super tired training is the last thing I feel like doing, however with my busy life I can't leave it until later so I have to just suck it up and do it when I have the chance.... I can tell you I have NEVER felt worse after a training session and normally feel a heaps better and like I can do anything.

Summer Training

01/06/2016 - 13:20

Running feels great again.

It's good to be back to regular training and managed to fit in a run around Princess Park for the first time in over a year. Not my best time but felt great.

All the heavy weight training with rower sprints has paid off.

It's good to know I don't have to find the time to run lots of Kms a week but if I train hard at the studio I can see improvement in my running.

So get out there and give it a try.

If you need help to get started come and see us.

It can be difficult to get back into exercise after having a baby. Some women start after a few weeks for others it might take a couple of years. No matter when you start again it so important you do it correctly. After having two babies one by caesarean and one naturally I know what's involved in the recovery from both of these. The first thing is to make sure the pelvic floor has recovered somewhat and then you can start doing effective weight training. The weight training will help the pelvic floor and core muscles recover properly. Squats and deadlifts if done correctly are the best exercises for getting the core muscles functioning effectively again.

The benefits of drinking water

09/03/2013 - 17:31

Drinking at least one and a half litres of water a day is essential for weight loss and good health. The actual amount of water you should be drinking is your weight in kilos times 0.033, for example if your weight is 65kg, the amount of water you should be drinking each day is 65*0.033=2.14 litres per day. This is your ideal water intake.
